Hillsdale Rockdale Twin over Full Bunk Bed Set in Espresso
- Shopper in
We moved into a small home near the ocean and have need for extra places for guests to sleep. We replaced our son's full size b
ed with this twin over full bunk bed. His bedroom isn't large and this bunk bed look and fits great in his room. I especially love the fact that the ladder does not extend onto the floor but is attached to the bottom base of the bed. The color is espresso and it goes perfectly with the other espresso pieces already in his room. It seems to be sturdy. Good quality and it doesn't take up any more floor space than his full size mattress/headboard he had previously. My only negative is that the instructions are not very detailed and when it says to use piece "a" unfortunately the pieces themselves are not marked which made it tricky to know for sure if I was using the right piece. The instructions say to install the ladder before you install the slats that rest under the mattress. I thought it would be easier to install the ladder last, after I put the full mattress on the bed. Not necessarily true. Although it is easier to get the mattress in without the ladder there, I had to hoist up the mattress on the end where the ladder is, unscrew one of the slats, install the ladder, screw the slat back in. I hope that makes since. Anyway I think that is the only poor design because it is easier to put the full mattress on the bed first before the ladder.

South Shore Imagine Loft Bed in Morgan Cherry Finish

My grandson wanted to move rooms to get away from a 'pestering sister' as he put it. Since the 2 girls would be better in 2 smal
l rooms he got to get the bigger one. This bed fit the bill as the room is not able to handle more cumbersome furniture. He chose it because he liked the hide-a-way underneath. I chose it because he wouldn't be as high to the ceiling and it was a composite with bookcase, bin and dresser. He designed his room with blue, green and red primary colors...mom painted the wall in stripes of blue and green in various widths on a celery background. The wood tone of this piece is really set off with this color combination. He chose a black rug for underneath which accents his computer work station and blue drapes with red curtains underneath which I made from the top sheet. For a 7 year old boy he has quite the eye for decorating. We are all pleased with the purchase. Mom and Dad had no trouble putting it together. Only one suggestion tho.....holes are necessary on the sides of the shelf so that a curtian rod can be put through giving it more support so that the hasling and fooling around that may occur won't pull it off as easily ....as if affixed to the side and tugged with it may cause a problem with uneven breakage of the wood. Otherwise it's a super piece and a good buy. He's excited..we'd like it to last thru high school. What are the chances?
