Regal Walsall 26" High Wood Barstool With Cross Hatch Backrest
- Shopper in
I did a lot of searching on the internet and visited at least a half dozen local store looking for a counter height stool with b
ack rest that would match my natural maple kitchen on one side of the counter and my brown leather couch on the other. I was amazed how difficult it was to find a light colored chair. Most these days are dark bergundy or black like the one pictured on this site. I wanted natural maple. I took a gamble on this set, ordering the "Natural" finish. I think it is Beach and it turned out to match my kitchen acceptably. I ordered the "El Diego Golden Brown Vinyl (Grade 2)" covering on the seats and they look really good, matching my brown leather couch nicely. The colors were a gamble, but the confort of the seat was not a gamble because I found a local store that carried the same model of chair (though in the dark color that I didn't want) and I tried it out. It is a very comforable chair to sit in. Enough padding for a bony butt, but not so padded that you sink into it. The seat back is also comfortable, nicely curved, and supportive.[...] I haven't used them for very long yet. My only concern is very nit-pickly and isn't serious enough to affect my rating of the chairs...it is that the cross-members connecting the legs are secured on the bottom edge by little metal L-brackets and where the members join to the legs they don't all fit super tight. Some have a hairline of space in them. I'm a picky perfectionist so I noticed these small lapses in craftsmanship, but if I required perfection I probably could have shelled out the cash for chairs in the $225+ price range rather than the $160- range. Most people probably wouldn't notice this anyway. I just hope that it doesn't affect the ability of the chair to withstand use/abuse from my kids or from heavy adults. The chairs look well built and pass my 160lb wiggle test (the chair doesn't wiggle much when I wiggle), so I'm happy right now and would definitely buy more of them if I need more or buy them again for another house.
