I usually buy mid-range to custom and for this room wanted traditional and functional. They look great with old oak file cabinets. I bought 6 tall and one 2-shelf that fits under a window.
We crammed them with books and there is virtually no sagging; very slight with all hard cover books.

I bought two six shelf bookcases, primarily to store a library of technical and business books. I am generally very pleased. The synthetic laminate is much nicer than I expected and matches the oak woodwork in my apartment very well. I also appreciate the 13" depth which is necessary for larger books and binders.

My only complaint is with the assembly instructions. The instructions by themselves are quite clear. However, these bookcases ship in two boxes with the lower part in one box and the upper part in the other box. The lower part is clearly designed to be sold separately as a two shelf unit. Unfortunately, the instructions in the lower section box are for assembling them as two shelf units and do not mention that they do not apply if being used as part of the six shelf unit. I opened the lower section boxes first and assembled them according to the instructions only to discover that this assembly was not correct when they are used as part of the larger unit. As a consequence, I had to partially disassemble the lower part in order to put them together correctly.
