Modern design enthusiasts will appreciate the understated style of platform beds . These beds lie close to the ground and help to create the illusion of a larger space. Typically they are available in fashionable wood colors like white, espresso and black. Platform beds also do not require a boxspring mattress which can translate into a further cost savings for you.
Twin size beds are a great choice for your child's bedroom while full size beds are ideal for either the teenage bedroom or the guest bedroom. Queen size beds and king size beds are naturally our most popular sizes, since they work perfectly for that master bedroom suite. Choose the design style that is right for you. We have modern wood beds, comfy upholstered beds, metal beds and more to choose from.

Bought this bed thinking it was essentially a platform bed but it isn't really. It has cross braces that screw into a very smal
l piece of wood that runs along each side rail but there are only about four of them and they would not support a mattress by themselves, especially a memory foam one like mine. Thus, it is necessary to use some sort of box spring/foundation, but the side rails are low so only a low profile foundation will look good, otherwise it will stick up above the rail. I went to Home Depot and build a platform of my own that drops in to the frame on the cross-supports and allows the mattress to sit down just under the top of the cross rails so it looks nice. However, there is definitely some noise when moving around and I don't know how long the small wood pieces holding the cross braces are going to last, it's hard to tell. It looks very nice otherwise and is pretty simple to take apart if you are willing to take the screws out of those wood pieces (though I think it would weaken it once reassembled). It has lasted two years so far so we'll see!
